Established in the 1950s by legendary conservationist Archie Campbell, Kafue is one of Africa’s vast untouched expanses. Major conservation partnerships with African Parks have reinvigorated anti-poaching, infrastructure, and wildlife protection across this vast ecosystem.
Flora, Fauna & Habitat
Home to 158 species of mammals, Kafue features the highest diversity of antelope species in Southern Africa (including Sable, Roan, Defassa Waterbuck, and Red Lechwe). The Busanga Plains are renowned for lions that climb sycamore fig trees to escape insects and scout prey.
